You can claim to be one thing, but actions and the fruit you produce will always tell the truth. - [Son of David Son of Man](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/matthew/son-of-david-son-of-man/) - Does Jesus have a rightful claim to the throne of David? Part of the mystery is that truth about the Trinity is both extremely simple and infinitely complex at the same time. This image, Three In One, is emblematic of that complex truth stated as simply as possible. The Father is not the Son. The Son is not the Spirit. The Spirit is not the Father. But, the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Spirit is God. - [Not Guilty Hoodie](https://visual-theology.local/shop/apparel/hoodies/not-guilty-hoodie/) - • 100% cotton face • 65% ring-spun cotton, 35% polyester • Front pouch pocket • Self-fabric patch on the back • Matching flat drawstrings • 3-panel hood - [Joy Hoodie](https://visual-theology.local/shop/apparel/hoodies/joy-hoodie/) - Who knew that the softest hoodie you'll ever own comes with such a cool design. The Bible unfolds this drama from Genesis through Revelation in four parts: Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration. This is also the gospel story, and it answer life’s biggest questions about why things are the way they are and what we must look forward to. Each icon on this soft, comfortable hoodie represents one part of the gospel. drama - [Forever T-Shirt](https://visual-theology.local/shop/apparel/t-shirts/forever-t-shirt/) - Psalm 136 is unique in that it is the only one that ends with a refrain or a repeating chorus. As with most songs, the chorus often tells the main idea of what the song is about. In this case, the song or Psalm is ultimately about the unending love of God through many different circumstances. It is a strong statement about the character of God and reinforces that love is part of his being. His actions, words, and plans all come from a place of deep love, and nothing will get in the way or cause his love to end. It is a FOREVER love. Period. Also available in a print. - [Psalm 23:1 Need vs. Want](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/psalms/psalm-23-1-need-vs-want/) - Psalm 23:1 tells me that I have everything I need. All other things are a gift. Despair comes when I desire the gifts more than the needs. This print illustrates that the gospel is the main thing, and no matter what else happens in my life, it is all I need, and I will always have it. - [Perfect Conditional Love](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/1-john/perfect-conditional-love/) - Too often we as humans put conditions on our love for others. Even unintentionally, we demand something in return for our love to be given. When we do that we are holding our love ransom and using the fear of it being removed as a way of getting what we want. When we place conditions on love it automatically breeds fear and causes fear. This print celebrates the perfect love of Jesus that comes with no strings attached. He doesn't make us fear him by withholding his love. He doesn't use fear as a condition for his love. The wonderful love of God is given freely because it is in his nature. It is who he is. - [Handouts for A Visual Theology Guide to the Bible](https://visual-theology.local/shop/curriculum/handouts-for-a-visual-theology-guide-to-the-bible/) - Infographic HandoutsTo Teach Through A Visual Theology Guide to the Bible We’ve prepared over 40 different full page infographic handouts straight from the book you can give to your students as you teach through the material. $12.74 – $29.74Price range: $12.74 through $29.74Choose the size of your group to determine pricing. But we know bad things are constantly happening in the world so how can this be? Paul isn’t looking for hope in present reality. Instead, his hope comes from the promise of a future with Jesus in a sinless, glorified state of being. Our new poster presents Romans 8:28-30 and pictures the perfect plan God has for us. - [Fruit of the Spirit – Patience](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/ecclesiastes/fruit-of-the-spirit-patience/) - The Fruit of the Spirit, as listed in Galatians 5, has always resonated because of its practicality. But we often forget that it is the Spirit that produces the fruit and not our own actions. It's with this in mind that each poster in this nine-part series is designed with bold and striking contrasts to illustrate how the Spirit wants us to live in opposition to our flesh. This pop-art style poster focuses on the attribute of patience as written in Ecclesiastes 7:8. - [Titus EULA](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/titus/titus-eula/) - When you install new software on your device, phone, computer, etc how often do you actually read the terms of service agreement or end-user license agreement (EULA)? Almost never right? Me too. We often just blow by the words never considering what they might mean. Too often we treat scripture in the same way. We scan and read but don't take the proper time to meditate and apply. What would our online interactions look like if we actually applied the instructions Paul gave to Titus to give to his church? Would we argue less? Would we love more? Would the gospel look more beautiful? Yes, yes, and yes. Read through God's terms of service and accept them and show the world through our interactions just how kind and loving Jesus is. - [Gift Card](https://visual-theology.local/shop/gifts/gift-card/) - Shopping for someone else but not sure what to get them? He has put us in this world to use them and to enjoy them to his glory. We use those gifts best when we focus on the gospel, seek wisdom in using them, and use them with a mindset of investing for eternity. The print Stewardship Process explores how this practically works out in three examples of money, our bodies, and children. - [Terror and Holiness](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/exodus/terror-and-holiness/) - The presence of God exemplified in the Ark of the Covenant was a holy and terrible thing to behold. It represented who God was and was a thing to be revered and not trifled with. This print shows the times the ark is mentioned in Scripture and how it physically and supernaturally affects those in its presence. - [Ways to Be Unclean](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/leviticus/ways-to-be-unclean/) - In the Old Testament, God demonstrated that he was holy and set apart from the people of Israel. Our sins need to be completely removed and replaced with the righteousness of Christ. Then, when we enter into the presence of a holy God, he sees the perfection of his Son and not us. - [Fruit of the Spirit Gallery](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/galatians/fruit-of-the-spirit-gallery/) - All the Fruit of the Spirit pop-art prints arranged in a gallery on one poster. - [The Good Shepherd](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/john/the-good-shepherd/) - Scripture print of John 10:11 designed in a fun neon style. - [Never Thirst](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/john/never-thirst/) - This fun retro video game-inspired print depicts an MC Escher-like never-ending waterfall that illustrates the eternal water that Jesus told the Samaritan women about in John 4. But what does it mean to "consider everything a loss?" In short, it means to renounce everything and follow Jesus. It means that the pursuit of physical things, relationships, goals, and desires all fall behind the pursuit of Jesus. It's the most basic form of being a disciple. But while it's basic, it's not easy. The reward, however, is astounding and eternally worthwhile. This print visually depicts what it means to count all things loss. As we remove the pursuit of worldly ideals and stack things in the pursuit of Jesus, the scale tips towards having ultimate joy in Christ. The end result is that everything else becomes dim in comparison to knowing Jesus. - [Easter Engravings (White)](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/matthew/easter-engravings-white/) - This Easter-themed visual theology poster showcases an intricate illustration that mimics the detailed craftsmanship found in traditional wood or stone engravings. Often we take for granted some of our foundational beliefs and don't stop to think about when they were being debated. Why do we believe Jesus is fully God? Why do we believe that he is fully man? In this print, we'll trace the development of the doctrine of the Trinity and then how it shifted from the Trinity to building the base of Christology. Along the way, we'll define a bunch of terms, names, and a lot of theological jargon and hopefully make it easy for you to see how the issues of Christology were thought through and defined. - [Press On](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/galatians/press-on/) - Galatians 6:9 says, Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. At the time when I read it, this particular verse was the brightest light. It cast out all sorts of shadows in my mind. I was so encouraged that Paul didn't necessarily condemn the weariness but, like a good father, lifted up my head and encouraged me not to give up. It's worth it. Finish the race well. - [Bible Tourism - Mt Ararat](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/genesis/bible-tourism-mt-ararat/) - I've always been fascinated with the places and events in the Bible and often imagined what it would be like to travel back or forward in time and be an eyewitness to the miraculous and spectacular. Ararat and explore the new geography and landscape formed in the post-flood era. The "Beauty" version here is designed with a fun retro vibe that will compliment your space and allow you to meditate on this beautiful and hopeful passage of scripture. - [Kids Shema Poster Bundle](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/deuteronomy/kids-shema-bundle/) - Visual Theology presents the Shema for Kids. This three-poster series designed in a beautiful halftone color palette simply illustrates the commands of Deuteronomy 6. In that passage, Moses gives instructions for families to hold on to the truths that they have been taught. They are about to enter the land that was promised to their ancestors and God wants to remind them to not repeat the mistakes that their parents made. In this passage, Moses tells parents to teach their children these truths in the morning when they get up and in the evening when they lie down. He also tells them to hold them so close to their hearts it's as if the Word of God was wrapped on their heads and carved into their homes. Bundle all three prints in our Shema series and receive a 10% discount. - [Did Jesus Rise From the Dead?](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/visual-theology-a-guide-to-the-bible/did-jesus-rise-from-the-dead/) - The resurrection of Jesus from the dead is the cornerstone of the Christian faith, and there have been numerous attempts throughout history to prove that it did not happen. God can call us to a specific work, such as being a pastor or counselor. God also places me to work as a father or mother, and He gives me passions to work out in music or athletics. No matter your vocations, they all carry the same great purpose: to do good to others and bring glory to God. The print Many Vocations illustrates how all these different areas work together for the glory of God. - [Doctrine Leads To](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/systematic-theology/doctrine-leads-to/) - Every Christian needs to study doctrine. It leads to love, humility, obedience, healthy growth, worship, and unity. - [Unbind Him](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/john/unbind-him/) - Unbind Him is the amazing story of the resurrection of Lazarus. In Lazarus, we see a picture of what happened to you when you became a Christian. When Christ saved you, he brought you from death to life–spiritual death to spiritual life. When Jesus calls Lazarus from the grave, he completes the transformation by telling those around him to "unbind him. Let him go." We have been unbound from the grave and death because of what Jesus has done. This print celebrates that fact while reminding us that we are dead in our sin without Christ. - [The Bible Does](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/psalms/the-bible-does/) - The Nature of the Bible tells us that we need to read and obey it. In Psalm 19, while the Bible was still in its infancy, David read it, pondered it, and ultimately praised God for it. In this Psalm, he uses a series of words to describe the Bible. In this graphic, we have illustrated what David says about the Bible in Psalm 19 and have graphically presented the blessings God promises to those who read and meditate on his Word. - [Fruit of the Spirit](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/psalms/fruit-of-the-spirit/) - The Fruit of the Spirit is a beloved list of godly traits found in Galatians 5:22-23. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law." This print is a wonderful way to remind yourself of these character traits and learn more about them - [The Bible Is](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/biblical-theology/the-bible-is/) - God speaks to us through the Bible. It is therefore helpful to understand the nature of the Bible and what exactly it is. In this print, we have collected multiple aspects and facts about the Bible to have a greater understanding of what you are reading. The Bible is a collection composed of two testaments, a story about Jesus, God's word, complete, and trustworthy. - [God Speaks](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/systematic-theology/god-speaks/) - God wants to speak to you, and God does speak to you. God speaks broadly to all humanity through what he has created. Specifically, he uses physical creation and universal standards of good and evil. He also speaks uniquely and personally to the believer through the Bible and our consciences through the Holy Spirit. The print God Speaks reminds us to be listening in all areas where God might be speaking to us. - [Identity in Christ](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/john/identity-in-christ/) - As you attempt to live a spiritually healthy life and grow close to Christ, you must understand who you have become and who you are. This print explores exactly what is wrapped up in this new identity. - [Psalm 23 Drama](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/psalms/psalm-23-drama/) - Psalm 23 is one of the most familiar passages of scripture in part because the imagery and story of the Psalm paint a dramatic picture of hope. Like most modern stories, there are familiar acts of intrigue, strife, drama, rescue, and a happy ending. We designed the posters with three distinctive styles – drama, calm, and beauty each seeking to evoke emotions that the Psalm conveys. The "Drama" version here is designed with hints of a classic one-sheet movie poster with a modern flair. - [Psalm 23 Calm](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/psalms/psalm-23-calm/) - Psalm 23 is one of the most familiar passages of scripture in part because the imagery and story of the Psalm paint a dramatic picture of hope. Like most modern stories, there are familiar acts of intrigue, strife, drama, rescue, and a happy ending. We designed the posters with three distinctive styles – drama, calm, and beauty each seeking to evoke emotions that the Psalm conveys. The "Calm" version here is designed with a minimal focus on the main character of the Lord as Shepherd. - [Putting Off Putting On](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/acts/putting-off-putting-on/) - The Bible lays out two ways that we become like Christ. We need to stop old habits, patterns, passions and start new habits, patterns, and passions. This print explores the process of having a complete change in attitude, sentiment, and behavior. - [Function & Use of the Gospel](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/visual-theology-seeing-understanding/function-use-of-the-gospel/) - Your pursuit of Christ begins with the gospel and continues with the gospel your entire life. This print illustrates that wonderful fact in a diagram showing that as we preach to ourselves, evangelize to others, worship in community, and celebrate the ordinances, the use and function of the gospel in our lives must and does increase. - [I Am](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/visual-theology-seeing-understanding/i-am/) - It is impossible to overstate the importance of knowing your identity–who you are in relation to Christ. Your new identity makes all the difference. It changes everything as you live the Christian life. If you want to grow close to Christ, you need to know who you are, and you need to know who you belong to. The print I am celebrates and educates you on exactly what your identity in Christ consists of. I am one with Christ. I am a forgiven sinner. I am in God's grip. I am, being renewed. I am a liberated slave. I am an adopted child. - [Gospel Connection](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/visual-theology-seeing-understanding/gospel-connection/) - We were always intended to have a relationship with God. Through our own sin, that relationship has been severed, but by the grace of God through the gospel–the good news that Jesus died and rose again as our substitute that relationship can be restored. The gospel is the relational connection between Jesus and us. We don't have a relationship any other way. We are lost forever without it. Through the gospel, we are forever bound to Jesus. This print celebrates that wonderful fact. - [Three In One](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/systematic-theology/three-in-one/) - The Trinity has been a theological mystery throughout the history of humanity. - [The Five Solas](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/systematic-theology/the-five-solas/) - The Five Solas are Latin phrases popularized during the Protestant Reformation that emphasized the distinctions between the early Reformers and the Roman Catholic Church. It is often said that these statements form the foundation of the Protestant faith. In this print, we want to show the foundational truth of each statement and the impact it has on our theology. - [Think On These Things](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/philippians/think-on-these-things/) - The much-loved words of Philippians 4:8 read as follows: "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." In this graphic, we've attempted to both portray and explain the verse. - [The Ordo Salutis](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/systematic-theology/the-ordo-salutis/) - "Ordo salutis" is Latin for "the order of salvation" and refers to the sequence of conceptual steps involved in the Christian's salvation. The sequence indicates logic more than chronology, so some steps occur sequentially while others occur simultaneously. This Visual Theology print is a classically Reformed understanding of how God saves his people. - [Advent Coloring Calendar](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/genesis/advent-coloring-calendar/) - Celebrate Advent with your family with our colorful Advent reading calendar! The calendar has 24 different scripture readings that highlight the life of Jesus and our relationship with him. This black and white version allows some fun to color in each ornament as you or your family complete the selected reading for the day. The first sections of the readings show Our Need for a Savior. The next section follows with The Promise for a Savior. Once Jesus was promised The Wait for a Savior came. The last section, The Birth of a Savior instructs you to read and enjoy when the Word became flesh. In addition to the black and white version there is also a full-color version to help you celebrate and count down Advent till Christmas. - [Advent Reading Calendar](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/genesis/advent-reading-calendar/) - Celebrate Advent with your family with our colorful Advent reading calendar! Over the years there have been a number of positions with several major ones rising to prominence. This Visual Theology graphic presents the three major views and their sub-views on the end times. It summarizes the pre-millenial, post-millennial, and amillenial positions. - [Be Kind](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/ephesians/be-kind/) - A simple and straightforward message from Ephesians 4:32. - [Five Solas](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/church-history/five-solas/) - The Five Solas are Latin phrases popularized during the Protestant Reformation that emphasized the distinctions between the early Reformers and the Roman Catholic Church. It is often said that these statements form the foundation of the Protestant faith. This subway-style print displays the foundational truth of each statement and the impact it has on our theology. - [Apostles Creed](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/church-history/apostles-creed/) - The Christian faith is essentially creedal. Since the earliest days, Christians have professed their faith in common creeds, and none of these has proven more important than the Apostle's Creed. First recited by Roman Christians in the 3rd century, it remains a key component of Christian worship here in the 21st-century. Through the ages and across denominations, it remains our common creed. This subway-style print displays the Apostle's Creed in both English and the original Latin languages. - [Love Is](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/1-corinthians/love-is/) - In 1 John 14:6, we are told that God is love. It is a simple yet profound statement that describes part of his nature and character. In 1 Corinthians 13, the Apostle Paul details this Christian character to the church and explains what it practically means to love as God loves. This subway-styled print puts on display a great reminder of how we can image the character of God to our families, friends, and neighbors. - [Qualifications of the Elder](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/1-timothy/qualifications-of-the-elder/) - From the Old Testament to the New Testament, those who serve God have been required to be set-apart and specifically qualified for their ministry. In 1st Timothy 3, the apostle Paul lays out the qualifications to be an elder in the church. This list of attributes speaks directly to the character and integrity of the individual called to shepherd God's flock. Hopefully, we've created a print that any pastor would be proud to hang in his office or home and would help remind him of the character traits God desires. - [Perkin's Order and Causes of Salvation and Damnation](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/systematic-theology/perkins-order-and-causes-of-salvation-and-damnation/) - This graphic was initially published in the reformer William Perkins' work that (we believe) went by the title "Golden Chain, or the Causes of Salvation and Damnation." In his graphic, he meant to display how God is sovereign in both salvation and damnation. As with Bunyan's order and causes graphic, he traces two very different paths leading to two very different destinations. Sinclair Ferguson has played pointed out that "in Perkins' chart, every aspect of the application of salvation is tied into a central spine representing Christ in terms of the various clauses of the Apostles' Creed." This is a graphic to study closely and ponder at length. - [Bunyan's Order and Causes of Salvation and Damnation](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/numbers/bunyans-order-and-causes-of-salvation-and-damnation/) - Though the name Visual Theology may be new, the idea is not. In fact, all the way back in the seventeenth century, John Bunyan produced an incredible work of visual theology titled "A Map Shewing the Order and Causes of Salvation and Damnation." In a pair of side-by-side timelines, he traced the believer's salvation (or the elect) and the damnation of the unbeliever (or the reprobate). This chart has since been reproduced several times but, to our knowledge, has not been updated from its original, antiquated language and visual style. We recently began work on an update, attempting to keep the original flavor as much as possible while still making it read well in the twenty-first century. Let us start you with a hint: Start on the left side and read through the circles as one big, long sentence. When that's complete, do the same for the other side. Finally, go back to read the verses and additional information. As we did, we think you will find that the first sentence is terrible and chilling while the second is beautiful and encouraging. - [Gideon vs. Midian For the Glory of God](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/judges/gideon-vs-midian-for-the-glory-of-god/) - While reading the story of Gideon in the book of Judges, you might be struck by the sheer size of the task at hand: 300 men pitted against an army of over 130,000. The absolute improbability of the victory is difficult to imagine and made even more startling when we are reminded that God rescued the nation of Israel despite their lack of faith, their disobedience, and their idolatry. What does 300 against 130,000 actually look like? It looks like the immeasurable glory of God on display for all to see. - [By The Numbers](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/numbers/by-the-numbers/) - The book of Numbers gets its name primarily from the two censuses conducted at the beginning and the end of the book. Shortly after the nation of Israel was liberated from Egypt, God wanted to prepare them to invade and take the Promised Land. Because of the people's rebellion, they were forced to wander in the wilderness for 40 years. At the end of the 40 years, God commands another census to be taken as a way to show the people they were to prepare once more to go and take what God had given to them. While the book's action doesn't primarily revolve around "numbers," it is a theme, and there are many numerated aspects that pop up. This graphic gives a few illustrated examples of the significance "numbers" play in this book of the Bible. - [Prayer Is/Does](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/practical-theology/prayer-is-does/) - Relationships cannot thrive on one-way communication. If we are to have a genuine relationship with God, we must not only listen but speak to Him as well. This poster shows us the many things that prayer both is and does in our relationship with God. - [Putting Sin to Death](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/colossians/putting-sin-to-death/) - Defeating sin in our lives is a task we must think through daily. The apostle Paul tells us to "put sin to death" in Colossians 3:5. How can we do that? We must think through it critically and carefully. We've laid out a flowchart that explains the serious detail of how defeating sin is accomplished with a wink and nod to popular internet flowcharts. Hopefully, this will give you more to think about and meditate on when dealing with putting your specific sin to death. - [The Gospel](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/systematic-theology/the-gospel/) - There is nothing more important to the Christian than what the Bible refers to as the gospel, the good news of what Jesus Christ has accomplished. This good news is factual and historical, recounting real events that really happened in real places with real people. But this good news is also relational, a crucial component of this pursuit of growing close to Christ. The print The Gospel reminds us of the key elements of what it is and what it does. - [Stewardship](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/practical-theology/stewardship/) - The principle of stewardship is built on two simple premises: God owns it, and you manage it. Because God created the world and everything in it, God owns this world and everything in it. Even though God owns it all, he delegates the management to you. God gives you what is his, and he instructs you to use those things well and use them in a manner that is consistent with his desires and purposes. - [How Relationships Work](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/practical-theology/how-relationships-work/) - We live in constant relationships with others. We are born into an existing relationship with parents and siblings and soon develop many more. For the sake of order and to reflect his authority, God created patterns of leading and following, roles that would involve exercising authority and roles that would involve submitting to authority. The print How Relationships Work seeks to illustrate those roles and express how they work. - [True Life Change](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/luke/true-life-change/) - In the story of the Prodigal Son, we have a great picture of what it means to enact true change in our lives. We see him have a spiritual awakening and turn from sin. He has true repentance and walks the other direction while seeking forgiveness. The Prodigal exhibits new behavior and pursues holiness and righteousness. Lastly, he humbles himself to receive forgiveness. This print reminds us of the Prodigal Son's major steps to enact real change in his life. - [Purpose of Vocation](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/practical-theology/purpose-of-vocation/) - We work to do good to others and to bring glory to God. God is the source of work and chooses to use us to extend attributes of himself to others. When we work, we show and extend the grace, goodness, and order of God to all those we work for and with. - [10 Rules](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/exodus/10-rules/) - The Ten Commandments were given on the surface to show the Israelites how to relate to God and their fellow man. It was a guide to show what holiness truly was and what it would require. It was impossible, and Israel failed to keep any of them. Ultimately Jesus would come to fulfill the law and keep every one of the Ten Commandments flawlessly. This print illustrates how Jesus was the perfect fulfillment of the failure of Israel. - [Guilty of All](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/james/guilty-of-all/) - A visual illustration that it doesn’t matter how much of the law you keep. If you break any, it's as if you broke it all. - [How to Apply the Bible](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/practical-theology/how-to-apply-the-bible/) - When we read the Bible, we want it to impact how we think and live. How does that happen? How can we help that process along? This graphic explains that it starts in your head, heart, and hands and defines exactly how we can apply the Bible in those areas. - [How to Start Reading the Bible](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/practical-theology/how-to-start-reading-the-bible/) - Reading the Bible need not be a difficult thing, to begin with. Unfortunately, they could not, but the Scriptures point ahead to a person in Jesus who would. - [Judges of Israel](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/judges/judges-of-israel/) - The book of Judges recounts the time in Israel's history where God continually showed grace and mercy to his people, delivering them from their oppressors time and time again. One of the major themes in the book is the cycle of sin. This infographic seeks to show the downward spiral that the Israelites found themselves in. Israel would serve the Lord for a time but would then fall into sin and idolatry. God would judge the nation for their sin, and they would be enslaved. Israel would then cry out to God to end their oppression. God, after hearing their cries, raised a judge to deliver them. The cycle repeated multiple times, with the nation slipping further and further down with each successive cycle. The graphic shows the major Judges along with a quick description and relevant scripture passages. It is a fantastic look at the history of the time period while illustrating the nation's state. - [Miracles](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/matthew/miracles/) - Throughout the New Testament, many miracles are performed by Jesus. Deuteronomy 28 highlights the blessings and curses from the results of obedience and disobedience. - [Balaam's Character](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/judges/balaams-character/) - Who was Balaam? That required Abraham to have a son. God finally gave him a son in his old age and then asked Abraham to do something incredible. He asked Abraham to sacrifice this promised son. What happened next would foreshadow the greatest sacrifice by a father and son in the person of Jesus. This print tracks the timeline of Abraham and Isaac's miraculous journey to portray the ultimate sacrifice. - [Clean and Unclean Animals for Food](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/deuteronomy/clean-and-unclean-animals-for-food/) - In the book of Deuteronomy, Moses gives the nation of Israel the law. There were explicit instructions relating to being "clean." The idea of being clean was to present oneself before God, holy and separate. Several things made people unclean, and symbolically, they needed to be clean before they could worship. Eating habits were included in this list, and in this print, we list out all the animals that were considered clean and unclean to eat. - [Circle of the Tree of Life](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/genesis/circle-of-the-tree-of-life/) - There are several trees prominently mentioned in the Bible. However, it's interesting that the Tree of Life appears both at the very beginning and the end of the story. The great story of the Bible is that in the act of love and grace, man was once barred from the tree. When the story concludes, man will be redeemed and once again have access to the tree. - [Census of Israel](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/numbers/census-of-israel/) - In Numbers 26, Moses and Aaron counted the people of Israel. These were the individuals left after the previous generation had died out from wandering. These would be the people who would enter into the Promise Land. - [God's Holiness](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/exodus/gods-holiness/) - In Exodus 3 and 4, the major theme presented is the holiness of God. He wants the position of the people to be clear. They are his created beings meant to worship him. Whatever happens to them in the future, the relationship with their creator would be clear. - [Life of Samson](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/judges/life-of-samson/) - This print details Samson's life, from the promise of his birth to his childless mother to his death, where he avenged the people and God he served. - [Israelite Tribal Land Divisions](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/joshua/israelite-tribal-land-divisions/) - After Joshua's conquest of the land of Canaan, the land was divided up amongst the different tribes. This print shows the amount of land each tribe received relative to each other. - [Love God Love Others](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/exodus/love-god-love-others/) - The Old Testament law, while serving as a constitution for the nation of Israel, also held a twofold purpose. It helped God's chosen people know how to love God and love others. Every one of the 613 laws can be traced back to direct the people to love God and love others. - [In the Beginning](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/genesis/in-the-beginning/) - In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The first two chapters of Genesis detail the story of creation, but each chapter has a specific focus. The first chapter gives a macro view of creation, while the second chapter zeros in on God's special beloved creation made in His own image, humanity. - [Hebrew Calendar](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/hebrew-calendar/) - This print shows the cycle of the Hebrew year. It includes harvest, weather, and festivals. It also shows where the Hebrew months line up with the traditional Gregorian calendar months. - [Heart Soul and Strength](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/deuteronomy/heart-soul-and-strength/) - In Deuteronomy, God tells his people that if they truly love him, they will keep his commands and love him with everything–their heart, soul, and strength. This command is repeated in the New Testament by Paul in 1 Corinthians, where he instructs the church to do everything for God's glory. This print highlights several areas in our lives and points them all to the center to reflect and remind us to do everything to the glory of God. - [Grace to Naomi](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/ruth/grace-to-naomi/) - Through the eyes of Naomi, the book of Ruth shows that God's purpose is to connect us to something far greater than ourselves. This print highlights the hardships and setbacks Naomi went through and the grace she was shown, ultimately culminating in the coming of Jesus. - [Formation of the Israelite Camp](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/numbers/formation-of-the-israelite-camp/) - In Numbers 2, the nation of Israel is instructed on how to set up its camp. Everything was pointing to and centered around God and the worship of him. The Tabernacle was in the middle, and the twelve tribes were positioned in specific locations around its perimeter. - [Cycle of Sin and Repentance](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/judges/cycle-of-sin-and-repentance/) - Throughout the book Judges, the people of Israel fell into a pattern where they would sin, be judged, repent, God would restore them, they would worship, and then repeat it. As the cycle repeated, however, the nation devolved further and further down. Their sin cycle would be worse and worse. - [Cultural Justice](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/exodus/cultural-justice/) - The law was not only about how Israel was to relate to God; it was also meant to instruct how they were to relate to their fellow man. In Exodus and Leviticus, there are many prescriptions given on how justice was to be given to all in multiple areas, including social justice, institutional, and socioeconomic. - [The Priestly Garments](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/exodus/the-priestly-garments/) - The ritual, description, and precision of the priestly garments, much like the tabernacle illustrated, symbolized, and taught the truth about who God was to Israel's people. God is holy. He is set apart. He is worthy of honor and a high place. This print explains each of the major pieces of the priest's outfit he wore while serving in the tabernacle and temple. - [OT Feasts and Festivals](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/leviticus/ot-feasts-and-festivals/) - As God set up the nation of Israel, he instituted festivals and feasts to celebrate, reflect, and honor what God was doing in their lives. This print explains the different feasts and festivals and shows when they occur on the Hebrew and traditional Gregorian calendars. - [OT Sacrifices](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/leviticus/ot-sacrifices/) - The book of Leviticus gives the nation of Israel instructions on how to present sacrifices to God. There were a variety of situations and animals and methods given. This graphic shows how each was used and in what circumstance. - [Bible Tourism - Mt. Sinai](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/exodus/bible-tourism-mt-sinai/) - I've always been fascinated with the places and events in the Bible and often imagined what it would be like to travel back or forward in time and be an eyewitness to the miraculous and spectacular. This series of prints celebrates that imagination and allows you to insert yourself into the story. This print imagines what it would have been like to witness the presence of God at Mt. Sinai after the Exodus. The God of the Bible is a God of visuals and when the Children of Israel approached the mountain God engulfed it with a storm of fire and lightning to show that there was a difference between Him and them. He also had Moses draw a line around the mountain to further illustrate that there was separation because of their sin. - [Bible Tourism - New Jerusalem](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/revelation/bible-tourism-new-jerusalem/) - I've always been fascinated with the places and events in the Bible and often imagined what it would be like to travel back or forward in time and be an eyewitness to the miraculous and spectacular. This series of prints celebrates that imagination and allows you to insert yourself into the story. This print imagines what it will be like to enter the city of New Jerusalem. Often we see these images depicted with a city that looks like it came from the middle ages, but I like to imagine that this will be the most beautiful and technologically advanced city we've ever seen. As with the other Bible tourism posters, there are a number of easter eggs hidden in the poster to tell the story. And I know Revelation says there is no sun, the light in this print is the glorified explosion from the light of the Son of God :) - [Rules for Priests](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/leviticus/rules-for-priests/) - As God's representatives, the priests were expected to set an example and be set apart from the rest of the Israelites. To remain clean and perform their duties in the tabernacle, they were forbidden to do several things. This print shows the ways the priests needed to be set apart to be consecrated. - [Tabernacle Details](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/exodus/tabernacle-details/) - God gave the tabernacle as a display of his truth. There were precise instructions given to the people on how they should design, construct, and transport the Tabernacle materials. As it was intended to be God's dwelling place in the midst of the people, every facet demanded excellence and precision. This print details all the individual measurements and instructions that went into the construction of the Tabernacle. - [Tabernacle Furniture](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/exodus/tabernacle-furniture/) - The tabernacle was given by God as a display of truth. Each item in the tabernacle served as a visual aid reminding God's people of his character, comforting them with his grace, and assuring them of the hope he extends to sinners. This print illustrates all the different pieces in the tabernacle and shows that each piece symbolized the sinner's need, God's temporary provision, and greater fulfillment in the coming Messiah. - [The Ten Commandments](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/exodus/the-ten-commandments/) - The Ten Commandments and the law as a whole reflect the perfect righteousness of God and sets the standard for holiness. This print lists the commandments and shows how the law reveals what is pleasing to God and sets the standard for our conduct. - [Rules for Kings](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/deuteronomy/rules-for-kings/) - Like the priests, the king of Israel would be a representative of God to the people. As a leader, the king was expected to be set apart and conduct himself to be an example to the people he was over. This print illustrates the principles in Deuteronomy 17 that a king should abide by. - [Signs of Consecration](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/exodus/signs-of-consecration/) - Through a series of practical and spectacular visual demonstrations, God showed Israel's people that he was set apart from them. He was holy, and they could not be in his presence in their sinful state. This print lists the signs God showed and the requirements he set upon the people to be clean. - [Ruth's Family Tree](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/ruth/ruths-family-tree/) - Ruth was a direct descendant of Jesus. This print shows the geology from her line all the way to Jesus. - [Perfect Love](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/1-john/perfect-love/) - First John 4:18 says that “There is no fear in love. But perfect love casts out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” We don't have to fear the judgment and wrath of God because the perfect love of Jesus took all of that away and has cast it as far as east from west. There is no condemnation for those who are found in Christ. - [Living the Drama](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/practical-theology/living-the-drama/) - Michael Horton said that the Christian faith is first and foremost an unfolding drama. It is told in a story that spans the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It is a story that is told in four acts: Creation, Fall, Redemption, and New Creation. What is interesting and important is that the framework of this unfolding drama answers all of life's biggest questions and helps us to understand the plan God has for us. - [The Shema](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/deuteronomy/shema/) - The Shema is from the opening part of Deuteronomy where Moses is giving instructions to the generation of Israelites that would enter into the Promised Land. Moses is concerned that this generation doesn't repeat the mistakes of their parents–namely the sin of putting other gods before the One true God. Moses also wants this generation to pass on this truth to their kids and to hold it so tight that it would almost become of part of them. Later on, zealous Jews would literally tie this scripture to their hands and to their foreheads. This portion of Scripture has been an easy way for parents to connect biblical truth to their kids. Particularly since the passage focuses on listening and obeying. This subway-style print displays the Shema in both English and the original Hebrew languages. - [Jesus + Nothing = Everything](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/galatians/jesus-nothing-everything/) - The Gospel in its purest form is all about Jesus. To have our sins forgiven, to have a relationship with God, to have eternal life we only need Jesus and his finished work on the cross. Throughout history, humanity has gotten itself into all sorts of trouble when the gospel is added to. Jesus and baptism does not save. Jesus and church attendance does not save. Jesus and being a good person does not save. It is the work of Jesus and the work of Jesus alone that we are saved and reconciled to God. The gospel is Jesus and nothing else. And if we accept that we gain everything. - [Minimal Advent Calendar](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/matthew/minimal-advent-calendar/) - This minimal Advent calendar is perfect to display on a wall as a decorative piece or to functionally use to count down the days to Christmas. Some fun options would be to place stickers on the days or put the print on a magnet board and move an ornament or other magnet to each day as the month progresses. However you choose to use the print it will remind you daily that our Savior has been born and the days ahead are coming to celebrate his birth. - [Forever](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/psalms/forever/) - Psalm 136 is a unique Psalm in that it is the only one that ends with a refrain or a repeating chorus. As with most songs the chorus often tells the main idea of what the song is about. In this case, the song or Psalm is ultimately about the unending love of God through many different circumstances. It is a strong statement about the character of God and re-inforces that love is part of his being. His actions, words, and plan all come from a place of deep love and nothing will get in the way or cause his love to end. It is a FOREVER love. Period. Also available as a shirt. - [Silent Night](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/home-goods/silent-night/) - Celebrate and reflect on the Christmas season with our stylish print version of the timeless and classic lyrics of the Christmas carol Silent Night. - [Hark the Herald Angels Sing](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/home-goods/hark-the-herald-angels-sing/) - Celebrate and reflect on the Christmas season with our stylish print version of the timeless and classic lyrics of the Christmas carol Hark the Herald Angels Sing! - [Oh Holy Night](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/home-goods/oh-holy-night/) - Celebrate and reflect on the Christmas season with our stylish print version of the timeless and classic lyrics of the Christmas carol Oh Holy Night. - [Kids Shema - Home](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/deuteronomy/kids-shema-home/) - This print, Home is a reminder for families to have the Word of God so present in their lives and the lives of their children its as if it were carved into the beams that make up the structure of the home they live in. They are about to enter the land that was promised to their ancestors and God wants to remind them to not repeat the mistakes that their parents made. In this passage, Moses tells parents to teach their children these truths in the morning when they get up and in the evening when they lie down. This series of prints celebrates that imagination and allows you to insert yourself into the story. This print imagines what it would have been like to stand on the edge of the Red Sea and watch it open up for the nation of Israel to crossover safely. I also always wondered if you could see fish and other things normally under the water like an aquarium. It also demonstrated the faith of the Israelites. The water was deadly as it crashed down upon the Egyptian army and I'm sure there had to be doubts in the minds of some that the water would hold. But God is good and gracious to his children and he brought them safely through. - [Let This Mortal Life Go](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/church-history/let-this-mortal-life-go/) - In the last verse of Martin Luther's famous hymn, A Might Fortress is Our God we are exhorted to let goods, kindred, and all mortal things go as they can too easily be turned into idols. This print celebrates the subversive nature of Martin Luther and his counter-cultural message. May we all be willing to give up everything for the sake of the gospel. - [Truth at All Costs](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/church-history/truth-at-all-costs/) - Throughout history martyrs, reformers, and those who have contended for the faith have understood that the truth is always something to be fought for. C.S. Lewis in his essay First and Second Things, says "Put first things first and we get second things thrown in: put second things first & we lose both first and second things." We believe that truth always trumps peace because when the truth is subordinate to peace, we lose not only truth but peace as well. Luther understood this as he defended his theology and fought to reform the church from the grips of power and indulgence that had led it astray. Because of this he was excommunicated from the church and branded a heretic and outlaw. This print celebrates the outcast pursuing truth at all costs. - [Religion is Worthless](https://visual-theology.local/shop/posters/books-of-the-bible/mark/religion-is-worthless/) - In the gospel of Mark Jesus condemns the Pharisees for their outward display of righteousness without a true heart change. This has always been a particular struggle for believers and seekers alike as we are prone to look to good words and deeds as the vehicle of our righteousness. Luther may well have had this in mind with the famous quote attributed to him: "Religion is worthless if it gives nothing, costs nothing, and suffers nothing." This print celebrates that truth and serves as a reminder that hypocrisy is always close to our lips and we need to constantly re-align our hearts with the gospel. - [Study Guide for Visual Theology](https://visual-theology.local/shop/curriculum/study-guide-for-visual-theology/) - Study GuideTo Teach Through Visual Theology As a companion to Visual Theology, the Visual Theology Study Guide is a ten session study designed to help you grow in godliness by practicing what you learn, and it includes application for both personal and small group study.
