The Shema
$14.99 – $34.99
The Shema is from the opening part of Deuteronomy where Moses is giving instructions to the generation of Israelites that would enter into the Promised Land. Moses is concerned that this generation doesn’t repeat the mistakes of their parents–namely the sin of putting other gods before the One true God. Moses also wants this generation to pass on this truth to their kids and to hold it so tight that it would almost become of part of them. Later on, zealous Jews would literally tie this scripture to their hands and to their foreheads.
This portion of Scripture has been an easy way for parents to connect biblical truth to their kids. Particularly since the passage focuses on listening and obeying.
This subway-style print displays the Shema in both English and the original Hebrew languages.
